Nabo is designed to help create friendlier, safer and stronger communities. To do this, we ask all members to sign up using their real name, just as you would use to introduce yourself to a neighbour in person.
Your real name is the name that you are known by. So if you are known as ‘Tony’ rather than ‘Anthony’ (which might be the name listed on your driver’s licence), then it’s fine to use Tony on Nabo. What isn't fine is making up a pretend name or borrowing someone else’s to hide your real identity.
Nabo is a private and secure space and takes strong measures to ensure the protection of your personal information, including password protection and site security, to make sure you feel comfortable sharing information with your neighbours.
We appreciate that this is your space and you should feel comfortable with the amount of personal information you share. Therefore, Nabo allows you to alter how your details appear to other members.
You can choose between the following options:
- Show your first and last name (e.g. Jane Smith) or your first name and the first letter of your last name (e.g. Jane S); OR
- Show your full street address (e.g. 1 Sodor Lane) or just your street (e.g. Sodor Lane).
